4 Things You Can Do To Avoid Getting Sick

Moving into month 6 of the pandemic, it continues to be vitally important for people to continue taking steps to avoid becoming sick. Although currently, the Coronavirus is taking priority in the United States, following these few steps can help you avoid becoming sick with colds, flu, and other illnesses as well.

In a recent study from March of 2020, researchers dive into how the Coronavirus lives in different environments. Here’s what scientists discovered as far as live time on different surfaces goes:

  • In the Air: 3 hours
  • Plastics and Stainless Steel: 72 hours
  • Cardboard: 24 hours
  • Copper: 4 hours

Strengthening your immune system with the following 4 things can help you avoid getting sick.

4 Things That Will Help You Avoid Getting Sick

1. Wash Your Hands

Washing your hands to avoid getting sick seems basic. However, 1 in 5 people still don’t wash their hands correctly, leading to infection and sickness. According to the CDC, hand washing can reduce the risk of respiratory infections by 16%. The simple act of washing your hands can help prevent yourself and others from getting sick. As hand hygiene becomes more essential these days, it’s important for us at Remedi Pure to educate ourselves and others about how to correctly wash hands. To correctly wash your hands, wet your hands, lather them with soap (try our foaming hand soap for a gentle lathering), rub them together, scrubbing the back of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Wash your hands for 20 seconds and dry with a sanitary, dry towel. When soap and water are unavailable, using a hand sanitizer that is made of at least 70% alcohol can help kill harmful germs and bacteria. Our professional-grade formula was made to do just that. Made with Vitamin E to heal hands during each use instead of drying them out.

2. Disinfect Frequently Touched Surfaces

Surfaces are breeding grounds for germs and bacteria. It’s not so surprising that the dirtiest places in your home are places you touch frequently, but are commonly forgotten when it’s time to get cleaning. According to CBS News, the dirtiest places in your home are:

  • Cutting boards
  • Stove knobs
  • Kitchen countertops
  • Pet toys
  • Faucet handles
  • Coffee makers
  • Pet bowls
  • Toothbrush holders
  • Kitchen sinks
  • Dish sponges and rags

The dirtiest of them all? Dish sponges and rags. An NSF study found that 77% of dish sponges and rags contained harmful bacterias with another 86% containing yeast and mold. At Remedi Pure, we want to minimize the amount of harmful bacteria within your home. We provide 75% alcohol wipes and an Ethyl Rubbing Alcohol formula to help you stay on top of cleaning certain surfaces, including wiping down kitchen countertops, handles, and other popular surfaces. It’s important to note when you last got a dish sponge and/or rag and replace them weekly.

3. Avoid Touching Your Mouth, Nose, and Eyes

When you are out and about, always avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes. One way that government officials are trying to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus is by wearing protective equipment. Many states and/or stores still require face masks to not only protect the person wearing them, but protect others they may come into contact with as well. Our disposable face masks at Remedi Pure are great for daily protection from allergens, bacteria, viruses, and airborne pollutants helping you breathe easier while also protecting others from your coughs and sneezes. It’s also important to wear gloves when you can. If you are out and absolutely have to replace or remove your mask, be sure to use sanitizer before and after doing so. Nitrile gloves can also help protect your hands from the different germs and bacteria on surfaces that you come into contact with throughout the day.

4. Strengthen Your Immune System
